All About The Brand

I never knew Shopify existed! What led me to this platform? What led me to start a clothing brand? My father passed away in 2011 from cancer and I always wanted to find someway to honor him.  He drove 18 wheelers for over 30 years.  I thought about starting a trucking company once I retire from the Navy. My mind was all over the place!

Fast forward to 31Mar19 when an artist,  entrepreneur, philanthropist, and father by the name of Ermias Ashgedom know by his stage name Nipsey Hussle was senselessly murdered outside of his Marathon Clothing store on W Slauson Ave. It felt like I lost a brother!  Like Nip, I also do music.  I wanted to start a clothing line, but didn't know where to start and honestly the inspiration wasn't there, or at least I thought it wasn't. 

After months of watching interviews on Nip and still thinking of a way to honor my pops,  I came up with the name Time to Shift Clothing.  Honoring my father and his career and impact that he had on me and a young brother that went against the grain,  stayed focused and committed and eventually purchased the lot that he was attached to since his younger days to turn it into the Marathon Clothing Store and several other stores that he owned as well. 

 Time to Shift is a inspirational clothing brand. We're a streetwear brand that sells high quality, premium crafted tracksuits, hoodies, t-shirts, varsity jackets, and more. Our brand is a paradigm shift of the mind. It's a reminder to take action when you're off course, refocus and drive you to achieve your goals and be your own boss.  A positive mindset along with drive and determination will put you on a different frequency. Shift your thoughts, Shift your focus, Shift the way you communicate, and Shift your priorities. This is the SHIFT mindset.  On this journey called life we all have road blocks and that’s all a part of our testimony. The stop and go, ups and downs is going to happen, but YOU ARE going to prevail. Never Miss a Gear is a critical part of the brand because if you miss a gear, you're not positioning yourself to win. In regards to your everyday life and your success, if you're about to redline, it's Time to Shift.  

The Meaning of Shift

Shift comes from the trips I took with my dad in his 18 wheeler . I was obsessed with the way he shifted through those gears, hitting the splitter, going high and low! Also, having served and still currently serving in the world's finest Navy for over 22 years, we use acronyms ALL THE TIME!  A lot of our designs you'll see are acronyms with powerful meaning. 

The “S” stands for Sacrifice. Are you willing to Sacrifice time, sleep, partying, or friends to achieve your goals and change your current situation if you’re in a less favorable place in life?

The “H” stands for Hard Work. Are you willing to put in the Hard Work that it takes to be your own boss and make sure you or your loved ones NEVER want for anything ever again?
The “I” stands for Inspire. Are you ready to Inspire millions and add value to the world?
The “F” stands for Fearless. You have to be Fearless in pursuit of your success and happiness. Stay focused and Driven.
The “T” stands for Teach. Teach your loved ones how to achieve the success that you did. Teach them to stay positive and never give up.
Our Motto
Never Miss A Gear is our motto because if you go from 1st to 3rd gear and you skip 2nd gear then you're skipping the HARD WORK part of SHIFT.  You want to be sure to touch every gear, make a positive impact and then SHIFT to the next gear. That's where the NMAG part came from.
